Was it a Local or a Worldwide Flood?

19 "And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered."

Genesis 7:19-20

The Bible says in Genesis 7:19 that all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered; and in verse 20 it says the mountains were covered, 15 cubits upward, or in other words about 22 and 1/2 feet above the highest mountains.  It would be pretty hard to have the water that deep and have it only flood there.

Why would God have Noah bring onto the ark life forms from all over the earth to preserve them alive, if it was only going to flood there?  Leave them where they were.

Why would God have Noah spend a year building a boat that big, if it was just going to flood there?  Just move.  You can move a long ways in a whole year.

Almost all ancient cultures had a story or an historical record of a Great Flood where the earth was destroyed and one family survived.

(over 300 known ones)

“The fact that the Flood lasted for more than a year (something not true of local floods) indicates that Noah’s Flood engulfed the whole earth.”

The Flood was Worldwide!
